GADSDEN-WILLIAMS INTENTION.jpg

COMING APRIL 2022

A game-changing guide for women who want to transform the way they work and create their own success—from an award-winning global diversity expert.

In today’s world, it takes more than ambition to succeed. It takes intention. But intention without clarity, deliberate words and calculated action is meaningless. According to Michelle Gadsden-Williams, a global expert in workplace culture and career building, intention is more than just setting goals. It’s seamlessly executing and achieving them. In this groundbreaking guide, she shows women how to both show up authentically and, more importantly, do the work that gets results. Her research-based insights, real-world strategies, and self-empowering exercises provide all the tools you need to:

• A must-read for businesswomen: Addresses the key issues women face in the 2020s, including finding meaning/purpose in your work, diversity, empowerment, resilience, self-esteem, sponsorship and race/gender issues at work

• A proven program for personal growth and professional success: Based on the author’s extensive experience in improving workplace culture and helping women’s careers along with personal stories and insights from other highly successful women of all backgrounds and industries.

• Award-winning author: Gadsden-Williams’ first book, Climb, won the African American Literary Award for Best Self Help Book in 2018.

Driven By Intention not only offers practical advice on a wide range of workplace challenges, it explores the inspiring successes (and occasional stumbles) of real working women today—including Mellody Hobson, President and Co-CEO of the largest black-owned asset management firm, Ariel Investments; Georgene Huang, CEO and Co-Founder and Romy Newman, President and Co-Founder of Fairygodboss; Sheri Salata who had extraordinary success as the Co-President of the Oprah Winfrey Network and President of Winfrey’s Harpo Productions, and Angela Yee the host of the wildly popular, nationally syndicated morning show, The Breakfast Club, along with DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God. Filled with unvarnished truths, hard-won wisdom, hands-on tips, and heartfelt insights, Driven By Intention is a book for impact seekers who want to make a real difference at work, in the world, in their own lives and on their own terms.

It has always been the intention of Michelle Gadsden-Williams to write a book about her CLIMB up the corporate ladder. Renowned as a diversity and inclusion strategist and thought leader, Gadsden-Williams held a C-Suite position at major organizations that most professionals dream of—global, influential, impactful, and above all, it was a position that she had worked incredibly hard for during her 25-plus years in corporate America. Then she got on the off-ramp to take another route and probe a different career path, exiting the corporate highway to launch Ceiling Breakers LLC., with the primary goal to help women and professionals of color reach their full potential.

In CLIMB, Gadsden-Williams shares how off-ramps and on-ramps are part of the career journey. Today she holds an executive position as Managing Director, Inclusion & Diversity - North America at Accenture.  CLIMB speaks volumes about her career trajectory and professional journey.

As a woman of color and corporate executive who has worked for several Fortune 500 companies, traveled around the world, lived and worked in Switzerland, honored by some of the world’s most prestigious organizations and publications, and having sat on seven non-for-profit boards—all while managing a chronic illness, she believes that she has something new to say about overcoming the barriers facing professionals today in the workplace.

Gadsden-Williams combines her insightful and inspirational life story along with pragmatic solutions as she addresses and dissects problems facing women, specifically women of color, in corporate America. CLIMB is a professional playbook that offers key steps to ensure that you are fully equipped to tackle today’s most pressing workplace issues and to advance into positions of leadership.
